Should You Buy A Gaming Laptop or Desktop PC?

  1. Only a IDIOT would buy a gaming laptop… I mean WTF????? Laptops don’t
have such great coolers. If I wanna install Rome Total war 2 which takes up
35 GB, about 2-4 Ram…. how would I install that shit?? or GTA 5?? Your
laptop would die for 2 days and you would waste your money. Buy a COMP for
1000$ and enjoy your gaming life.

  2. What is interesting about the Lenovo G505s AMD A10 @2.5 Ghz Quad Core,
Radeon HD 8650G, 6 Gb RAM, and 1 TB HDD is that when I UNPLUG (regardless
of performance setting; tried them all) I get a full 10 FPS increase on
just about all games that love to use GPU power. I believe this is because
    of the 65 Watt PSI.

    college, i’m becoming a mechatronics/electrical engineer. i need a high end

  5. Is a laptop with, 8GB DDR3l, 1TB Hard Drive and a GeForce GTX 850 M good
for playing games such as CS:GO ?? Someone help

  6. There isn’t much to discuss here: if you need portability, get a laptop, if
you play your games mostly at home, by all means get the best desktop money
can buy. Or, even better, build one yourself and stretch your dollars to
the max. Nowadays even a child could assemble a PC. Yeah, it’s THAT easy.

  7. The Only games that I shall play on a Laptop ever would be the TOTAL WAR
And my Dell XPS Studio works well with Rome 1 and Medieval 2 TW.
Empires TW works only if I set the graphics to low.
Shogun 2 TW works, but I suffer from a good 60 second long load up.
Rome 2 falls closely to Shogun 2 but takes a little longer to load up.
Attila TW is pushing the envelope of gaming performance and that’s why I
might up to wait and save up money and buy A better gaming laptop and slap
an three yr warranty on it.
Or just in all play Rome 1 or Medieval 2. Since both has amazing mods that
still makes these too playable and game play value is still high.
Other than that I gonna start to try to save up money for now and by my

  8. My Dell Inspiron laptop can play most indie games really well, but can’t
really play the high-end graphicy games because of the graphics card.

  9. Can you make a video on how to make an affortable pc for The Witcher 3?

  10. I think it boils down to the type games you’re trying to play. My laptop is
not meant for gaming but I’m also not trying to outdo what its capable of
at this time. I agree desktop is the way to go though.

  11. I have an Asus G46VW and it works fairly well for gaming on a monitor
plugged in. I get decent framerates in Skyrim or Tomb Raider on high. Yes,
if you can’t stand to get less than 40 fps, it wont be good enough. This
laptop fits well in my backpack. I’ve upgraded the ram the HDD and the
CPU. I’ve been thinking about getting a desktop and slimming down the
laptop for my photography hiking trips because I won’t be gaming while
traveling. I’m looking at benchmarks for recent desktop CPUs and some
mobile ones too and have noticed little difference between them. An i5
4460 is pretty much the same as an i7 4700HQ minus the hyperthreading. My
i7 3630QM benches pretty closely too. I assume than an i7 4770 or better
will actually best the other CPUs I’ve mentioned. Next, the 660M is not
too shabby but the 860m does perform a bit better, and for most benches
I’ve found a 750 ti is pretty close to the same as the 860m so… I parted
out a desktop on newegg at about $900 to actually beat the performance of
the current lenovo/asus/alienware laptops and still I’ll only get better
FPS on some games but the performance seems like it’ll be nearly the same
for programs like Lightroom. I might actually want to play Witcher 3 or
something else with better graphics that comes out in the next 4 years, I
    still don’t know.

Trackpad to play games on laptop? I use a mouse on my laptop to game.

  14. a £400 laptop will absolutely destroy a 700 or even a £1000 laptop? no way
    you haven’t done your homework

lets take the asus G751JY, (all price in canadian $ pre-tax)

    retail is 2200$

    an equivalent desktop would cost

    motherboard: 100$
    CPU: 285$ (i5-4690K)
    ram: 75 X 3 = 225$ (24GB total)
    video: 375$ (GTX 970)
display: 180$ (Acer 23″ ips panel)–> G751JY has ips panel too
ssd: 280$ (PCI-E M.2 fast SSD to match the one inside G751JY)
    blu ray: 60$
    power supply: 60$
    hard drive: 60$ (1TB)
    keyboard(illuminated): 40$
    bluetooth: 15$
    ac wifi: 20$
    card reader: 15$
    case: 70$
    CPU cooler: 40$
    webcam: 20$
    speakers: included with acer monitor

    total: 1845

of course desktop is a bit faster, screen bigger, but is missing the
battery(did not include UPS battery for the desktop)
desktop is also missing a legit Windows 8.1 which is 130$

there’s no way a desktop with your ratio of 2.5 times less money will beat
    the laptop, not even close

could you beat asus G751JY for (2200/2.5) 880$? not even close

    PS: I paid 1868$ for the G751JY

  15. how will this run games

  16. well u changed my view of getting a laptop because the only good internet
is at my grandparents house and there is very bad internet at my house. so
if u have any ideas about getting a desktop of a laptop now because of the
downloading the games plus buying them off of the site where u are buying
the game and any expantions like i would be because i would be playing
skyrim and moding it a lot and buying the expantion packs to have lots of
fun. but i also like to go to friends house and play together with them. so
do u have anything to say about this problem or what i should be looking at
    for a gaming computer?

Hello mate,if I buy a hd radeon 6970 now,for how long should I be able to
do gaming in ultra settngs with that, like you know,it can play watch
dogs, division in ultra settings right now,is it gonna be the same for games
that would release in the late 2021 s,give me your prediction, and if
    not,what card should I buy,I would be gaming in a 1080p monitor,thnx in

  18. because the voltage matters the difference in laptop and desktop is that
because the voltage on laptops are little but the voltage on desktop
stronger so that means if u have so hight voltage ur components will run at
100% their full power but still its good performance on laptops u can
upgrade ur cpu and u can upgrade ur ram and even upgrade ur graphic card
external gpu laptop is portable yes but u can take it if u travel and play
games when u are bored on traveling and when u get in ur house u put the
laptop on our table connect ur external gpu to laptop and WOLA u can play
games that u cannot play when u are traveling!

  19. Started going through the comments and came across an array of names to
computers parts I have never heard of before. I don’t know what the hell
any of you guys are talking about.

  20. thank you for this useful information :)

  21. I dont find the point about upgrading valid anymore. Because suppose you
change your graphic card, cpu, what do you do with old graphic card and
cpu? Leave it in a box underneath you bed?? Isn’t that a waste?
I bought a relatively good laptop 3 years ago, played several games and had
Then it was a bit too slow to play recent games.
I recently bought another gaming laptop and its awesome. The old laptops
can still do most thing like watch movie and browse the internet. I now
have 2 fully functional laptops. I think that’s a better use of money in a
sense that I have two fully functional laptop(instead of leaving old
desktop graphic card and cpu in a box) and it offers me portability. Gaming
laptop are heavy but not that heavy if you get a laptop backpack. I’m not
trying to convince anyone but after using desktops for 10 years and using
gaming laptops for 4 years. That’s what I concluded.

Hey every1 in the comments section, I have a question

20 fps also can I run the total war series on ultra?
